Bob CIW618 started having problems where Radio Only (RO) messages were not uploading to CIW971.  Through teamwork between Bob CIW618, Reg CIW608, and myself CIW604, we have isolated the problem to being the latest update to Winlink Express v1.7.29.0.

How to identify the problem:

  • Your CFARS RO messages are not being uploaded to the RMS during RO Sessions.

  • The RO session window appears to be looking normal, showing messages sent 0 and messages received 0, but does not show anything with respect to trying to upload or download any messages.

  • Your Amateur Radio RO messages transfer normally.

  • It is not known at this time if this problem is isolated to only RO sessions.

How to fix the problem:

  • Don’t update to Winlink 1.7.29.0.

If you have already updated Winlink, install Winlink Express 1.7.28.0 overtop of version 29.
